The student edition of Brazos Bounty is a Welcome
Service whose purpose is to familiarize college students and faculty in
Bryan-College Station with local services, businesses, professionals, and
organizations.
At the beginning of each semester, Brazos Bounty
distributes Welcome Bags to campus newcomers. These large, heavy-duty,
plastic bags contain gifts, discounts, coupons, services, and informative
materials from selected sponsors. Unlike coupon books and discount
magazines, this method of distribution offers sponsors the capability to
insert promotional items such as mouse pads, key chains, highlighters, pens,
menus, magnets, large flyers, and other product samples into the bags. The
bags are hand-distributed from Texas Aggie Bookstores, as well as other
student-oriented apartment complexes throughout the cities.
This program has been highly successful since its
inception in the fall of 1998, and since that time, Brazos Bounty has
distributed 10,000 bags each fall semester. Starting with the 2006
- 2007 school year we have started promoting local businesses and services
on our Web Page, www.BrazosBounty.com.
